This is actually day 67, at sea. Both Mom and I have had sinus, cold, cough things. We are having dinner in our cabin tonight - our butler set it up with a white tablecloth (consomme for me, duck salad for Mom, filet mignon and sticky toffee pudding, then coffee). Hope we are OK for Nha Trang, Vietnam tomorrow. We are going to the countryside and will visit a kindergarten class. We have some tin whistles for them. The weather has turned warm and humid because we have been traveling south.
We just saw on TV that navy ships in the Mediterranean are firing on Libya, and its main cities are on the Med coast. Hope that is over before we get to the Mediterranean! Is it my imagination or is the world, at least where we are, a dangerous place?
By the way, we heard about trouble in Yemen, which we sail past in a few days ... we also sail by Somalia - emphasis on SAIL BY (just checked the map, we only sail by the northern tip of Somalia)! Then into the Red Sea. The Red Sea looks very wide. If you look at the map, the Israelites crossed it with Moses and ended up in Saidi Arabia (I didn't realize that).

that's cool that you can go to the same place that the Israelites were! Can you sort of picture them crossing in your head? :D
ReplyDeleteHi Mom and Dad,
ReplyDeletewow- Hong Kong! I love the picture of the junk or houseboat or whatever in front of the skyscraper.
I hope you are both feeling better soon!!! Please, go to the dr. if you are still unwell.
Our play is over. It was great and such a fun cast! All of your granddaughters did a spectacular job! Kate looked great in her 'fat suit' and gray hair! ha ha! Plus, she had an Irish accent! And Jess did a great job in her heart breaking 'Jo, the baby's dead' scene. Sophie was a whirlwind backstage, in charge of every set and prop, and able to prompt every single line in the play, to boot! I did the lights AND sound at the same time - and only made a few mistakes. :)
Are you in the Red Sea now??? We just covered this in church the other day (We are studying through Exodus) and it was interesting to hear about where they ended up after crossing the Red Sea. How cool to be there!
Can you do a video with one of you in it talking? It would be nice to see your smiling faces. :) -Once you are feeling better, of course.
love,
Susie
